OEE Consulting’s annual Golf Day was a resounding success, raising a total of £2000 for Mencap.

The course was closed just 24 hours before due to unseasonable weather conditions, but despite concerns play (of varied quality!) continued.

Fifty OEE Consulting employees and clients participated in a hotly contested 18 holes. The worthy winners were David Braithwaite, OEE Consulting, along with Mike Easterbrook and Mark Webb from HPE and Mark Schaffer from Old Mutual.

As well as the main contest, we also held competitions for nearest the pin, longest drive and beat the pro.

For every person that beat the pro OEE Consulting donated £50 to Mencap, raising a total of £500. Further donations were made from our generous attendees, who raised a fantastic £1150. We also donated our annual Christmas card fund, to reach the total of £2000.

Lucy Groen, Partnership Development Manager, Mencap, said “We are extremely grateful to OEE Consulting for choosing Mencap as their charity for their 2016 Golf Day. The money raised will help us to support more people with a learning disability lead the life they choose.

£2,000 could, for example, pay for a person with a learning disability to join ‘Employ Me’ – a 6 month programme, which helps people find meaningful employment.”

As well as fundraising for Mencap, OEE Consulting also provides consulting services and training services at a reduced rate for the charity. Mencap is also a member of the Service Excellence Network.
